James A. Mangano

James A. Mangano, 73, resident of Yulan, NY passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 29, 2021 after valiantly fighting a battle with cancer. He was affectionately known as Jimmy or Uncle Jimmy to his family and friends.  

He was born September 19, 1948 in Danville, PA to his parents, Joseph A. and Zella A. Steiner Mangano, who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his sister, Mary D. Baylor, and his brother, Richard J. Mangano.  

Jimmy graduated from the New York School of Printing and was a printer by trade. After retirement from Darbert Offset Corp., he began his own home contracting business.  

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Bonsignore; his son, Amadeo J. Mangano; his dear friend, Lucy Pasqualone; his sister, Carol Mangano Riehle; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends. He will be sorely missed by all.  

Jimmy created his own artwork and enjoyed playing golf, talking politics and reading the Bible. He also enjoyed attending Bible studies, Men’s Fellowship, the Knights of Columbus and serving at his church, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Yulan.  

On Monday, April 12, the family will receive friends at 11 a.m., which will be followed by the Memorial Mass and Service at 12 noon at St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, located at 25 Beaver Brook Rd., Yulan, NY. Lunch will follow at St. Anthony’s Parish Center. Celebrant for the Mass will be Father George LaGrutta assisted by Father Joselin Pens Berkmans. (Masks are required.) Arrangements are being handled by Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home in Barryville, NY. Interment will be at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY.  

The family wishes to thank the hospital staff at Garnet Catskills Medical Center for the good care Jimmy received there and all his friends at St. Anthony’s for their prayers, love and care shown to Jimmy in his last days.
