REGION — What’s your attitude toward maple syrup?
If you, like so many others, are a fan, then check out these maple-related offerings in March.
Maple Weekend in New York takes place on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19; and again on March 25 and 26.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, farms across the state host tours of their sugarhouses. “Experience firsthand the production of pure, mouth-watering maple syrup,” organizers wrote on Facebook recently. Admission is free to the family-friendly event.
Learn more at nysmaple.com.
These are local sugarmakers according to the site; give them a call and see if a tour is possible or if syrup is available.

The Northeastern PA Maple Producers’ 2023 self-guided maple tour kicks off at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19. It finishes at 4 p.m.
There’s no charge to take the tour.
This year, according to a page at waynecountypa.gov, the tour features eight local maple producers at stops throughout the area: Burke’s Maple Farm, Streamside Maple, Journey’s End Farm, George Boudman and Tom Hollister, Tom Nebzydoski, North Harford Maple, Shemanski Maple Syrup, and Lake Russell Maple. Stop by one, two, three or all eight to see the process of turning sap into syrup.
You can buy local maple syrup and maple products as well.
