I don't know what it is about this summer, but this is the first time that I have ever been successful in growing eggplant. I couldn't be more delighted.
Growing your own food is a humbling experience. It makes you realize how connected to the earth we are and to the environment generally. How dependent we are on the natural cycles of life and the hard work required to live sustainably. It is also a rare opportunity to witness the results of our labor. It makes us better human beings.
