FREEHOLD, NY — Freehold is a couple hours away from Narrowsburg, but if you happen to be up in Greene County, here's an interesting shop to check out.
Hort & Pott is a botanically-driven design concept shop in a turn-of-the-century boarding house in the Catskills, just 20 minutes from Hudson.
Todd Carr and Carter Harrington have created a place (by appointment only, on select weekends throughout the year) where they transform their "work//shop" according to the season. The indoor and outdoor space is filled with botanicals, vintage objects and their handmade goods.
Todd and Carter wear many hats—they're gardeners, designers, creators and educators. Every season's work//shop installation is totally unique and filled with many different moments/vignettes. You might know them from their wreaths, which is how they started back when they launched in their first location, in nearby Oak Hill. They moved to the Freehold property a few years ago, which in addition to the work//shop space in the former boarding house, boasts a stately, late 1800's farmhouse that they are currently renovating to be their residence with an attached large workshop space for classes, demonstrations and events.
Their fall dates will be:
September 30 and October 1
October 7 and 8
October 14 and 15
And they are beginning to add seasonal products to their
e-comm shop on the website, so anyone, anywhere can bring a bit of Hort & Pott into their home.
