GOSHEN, NY — For Veterans Day, families are invited to learn about decorated war horse Staff Sgt. Reckless (1948-1968) at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 11 at the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame.
The event will honor military Veterans as well as tell the story of Reckless, who was purchased in Seoul, Korea in 1952, and went on to serve in the U.S. Marines with honor. She particularly distinguished herself at the Battle for Outpost Vegas, according to www.1stmardiv.marines.mil.
Kids can do a craft project in honor of Staff Sgt. Reckless.
Admission costs $10 for adults and $5 for children. Admission is free for Veterans and their families, as well as for Scouts and 4-H members. All ages are welcome.
Programs are made possible by the Agriculture & New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund.
The museum is located at 240 Main St.
