HONESDALE, PA — The Greater Honesdale Partnership (GHP) has been awarded $100,000 in funding through Governor Josh Shapiro’s Main Street Matters Program. These funds will be used to launch a Business Improvement Grant Program designed to support the growth, sustainability, and vitality of Honesdale’s small business community.
The grant program will offer microgrants of up to $5,000 to established businesses located in Honesdale’s designated downtown area. Businesses must provide a dollar-for-dollar match, and funds may be used for capital purchases; structural or interior improvements; hardware, software and connectivity upgrades; or professional marketing and promotional activities.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Honesdale’s small businesses to invest in their future,” said Sandi Levens, Executive Director of the Greater Honesdale Partnership. “We are grateful to Governor Shapiro and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for recognizing the importance of strong main streets. This program will give our local businesses the tools they need to grow and thrive.”
Additional information on how to apply for the Business Improvement Grant will be released soon. Interested businesses are encouraged to follow updates at www.visithonesdalepa.com or contact the GHP office directly.
As part of the state’s larger Main Streets Matter initiative, this funding highlights the critical role that main streets and downtown districts play in Pennsylvania’s economic development strategy.
