It’s Holiday Season 2021, and the world is slowly opening.
It’s not the same. We’re juggling change and the anxiety that comes with it. It’s hard. But the River Reporter is here to offer something to make part of the holidays a little easier.
Planning something special food- or drink-wise? Writer Jane Anderson gives you a list of local breweries or restaurants that will give you something marvelous for the bar or wine glass. (Or coffee cup). And then we top it off with delicious edibles: three bakeries in our region that will put sweets and savories on your table.
For those who can’t shop the way they used to, or who want to embrace a simpler time, Hunter Hill and Amanda Weisenmiller give us a DIY holiday. Make your own cards and wrapping paper!
Sometimes we decorate for the beauty of it, and sometimes because the items or ornaments have special meaning. Two River Reporter staff members share photos and stories. What are yours?
Counselor Kim Olver gives us her wisdom on the challenge of interacting with family and friends who believe differently from us. How do we get to a place of non-judgment? Follow her advice.
You might be looking for something to do as the season winds on. Roger Snedeker has put together a list of events, scheduled as of this writing. Check back online for more!
Welcome to the holiday season, 2021. Different, of course, from what’s gone before, but the elements of happiness are still there. Seek them out.
