Chandra Roberts new director of patient care services

HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Hospital (WMH) has a new director of patient care services. Chandra Roberts, RN, MHA, will replace Jim Pettinato, who will take over as the hospital’s CEO in January.

Roberts’ new job is effective immediately. Most recently the Nurse Manager II – Inpatient, she brings two decades of experience and skill to her new position, a news release noted.

“I am grateful to be asked to assume this position,” said Roberts, a Milanville resident and mother of four. “It allows me to continue to focus my energies on patient safety, employee development and service excellence, all key to the success of Wayne Memorial Hospital and, just as importantly, to the betterment of the community—my community—in general.  Wayne Memorial has always been like a second home to me.”

A Wayne County native, Roberts first came to work at Wayne Memorial in 1996 as a nurse’s aide, the same year she started at Indiana University of Pennsylvania to pursue her bachelor’s degree in nursing science. She has been employed full-time as an RN at WMH since 2006. After working in the emergency department, Roberts became the education manager and eventually the nurse manager.  She received her master’s in healthcare administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2021.

Roberts is also very active in the community, serving as a 4H leader and on the 4H advisory board and the Wayne County Dairy Promotion Committee.
