How are you all doing?

I was in Walmart the other day and I ran into Dan and Marilyn Barletto. We had a great chat playing catch up.

I was coming out of the doctor’s office and going into the waiting room last Friday and it was like a ray of sunshine hit me in the face. Yes, it was him in all his glory with his flag mask on: “The Judge,” Bob Meyer. I always love catching up with him; we have a good laugh. He introduced me as the girl he took to the senior prom.

Vendors are wanted for the makers and crafters flea market that will take place on Sunday, July 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cochecton Erie Train Station, located at 8537 Rte. 97. The market will feature local authors, musicians and, of course, treasures to buy. There will be hot dogs, “Choo-Choo Chili” and ice-cold water available for purchase. A 10-by-10-foot space costs $15; bring your own chair, table and tent. For pre-registration and details, contact the Cochecton Preservation Society Inc. by calling 845/932-8104 or emailing Cps12726@gmail.com.

A message from Michael Popolillo: “Great news: On June 15, the lake was treated with Seclear. We will keep you posted on the progress of the treatment. Last time we did the treatment, within a week, the lake was crystal clear and the summer was great with swimming, boating and plain fun. We have been working extremely hard to keep the Lake Association going with monthly meetings of the board of directors. We need your dues; we cannot survive without them. It costs you $100 a year to keep this lake beautiful. If you did not pay your dues, please mail [them] in or bring [them] to the annual meeting. Donations are also accepted. Our annual Lake Association meeting is Saturday, July 24 at 10 a.m. at the Lake View Pizzeria, located at 23 Crestwood Rd. in Lake Huntington. We will be picking the winners of our annual raffle at the end of the meeting. (Eileen still has tickets if you want any.) We will be taking names for the elections of the board of directors at this meeting. If you are interested in serving on the board, please email us your name or the name of someone you would like to nominate for the board. Present members looking to keep their positions on the board also need to be nominated by another member. You may also mail your nomination to LHNYLA, Inc. P.O. Box 95 Lake Huntington, NY 12752. All ballots must be received by the board before the annual meeting. You must have your dues paid in full at time of the annual meeting to be nominated to any position on the Lake Association. The positions that are up for election with the person who currently holds the position are as follows: president (Michael Popolillo), vice president (John Nober), secretary (Peter Pierce), treasurer (Earl Bertsch), board member (John Reggero), board member (Paul Salzberg), board member (Robbie Senzon) and board member (Jon Crocitto). Help us to help you. Please participate by coming to the meetings and please pay your dues. You’re the heart of this Lake Association.”
