HONESDALE, PA — Gov. Tom Wolf released the following press release after visiting Honesdale on Tuesday, December 10:

"Today, Gov. Tom Wolf visited small businesses and encouraged Pennsylvanians to shop local this holiday season during a tour of downtown Honesdale. While touring the downtown that inspired the lyrics to the classic carol 'Winter Wonderland,' state and local leaders also discussed how rural communities will benefit from the recent signing of the state’s rural health bill.

“'Downtowns like Honesdale offer Pennsylvanians an opportunity to buy unique gifts for their friends, families or themselves while supporting their neighbors and community,' said Gov. Wolf. 'As we continue to invest in improving our downtowns, we create better lives for all Pennsylvanians.'

"The tour took the governor to Arts for Him and Her Too, a custom tailor shop and clothing retailer; the Former Delaware & Hudson Canal Co. Office and Wayne County Historical Society’s main museum building; and Yoga International, which provides more than 300,000 clients worldwide with multimedia content on yoga.

"Following the downtown tour, the governor stopped by Wayne Memorial Hospital to discuss the benefits of the recently signed public health bill that supports the financial stability of hospitals in rural communities by transitioning them from fee-for-service to global budget payments."
