The final count shows that Jen Metzger lost. This is evidence, if any was needed, that humans are not rational by default. Jen was the picture of public service at perfection. I was hoping to celebrate Gov. Metzger someday.

I was surprised and deeply disappointed with the results of the District 42 New York Senate race, but then I remembered that Jen Metzger’s amazing legacy of intelligent, non-stop commitment to her constituents and all New Yorkers will remain to sustain us until such time as she may run for office and work for us again. We can only hope that is sooner rather than later. 

Until then, it will be up to us to deal with, and try to limit, the impending damage to be inflicted by the bloviating, condescending, backroom wheeler-dealers who have been left in control of our government. Thank you again, Jen, for all you have done to make the lives of so many people better.
