April’s that sweet spot where spring really starts showing off: longer days, warmer weather and just enough sunshine to shake off those winter blues. Whether you’re heading out for spring break adventures or just soaking in the slower pace at home, it’s the perfect time to hit refresh. Flowers are blooming, birds are singing, and everything feels just a little lighter.

Here are some events happening in our communities and beyond:

There will be a closing reception for the exhibition “Imaginative Interlude” on Sunday, May 25 at the Arts Nest in Lake Huntington, NY, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The show has spotlighted local artists Abby Alzamora and Heather Lockwood. Experience the vibrant world of color, pattern and texture that these talented artists have crafted together. As part of the closing celebration, Alzamora and Lockwood will be doing a live demonstration, offering insights into their creative process and techniques. Don’t miss this chance to engage with the artists, ask questions and view the exhibition’s final pieces before they are gone. The event is free of charge and is open to the public.

Stop by JURNI, 420 Bernas Road, for its new 30-minute total body circuit and cardio room. Get fit for summer with a three-month pass that costs just $25/month. I love that it is so close, and with the three-month pass, you receive 24-hour access as well as three free passes for your friends to try the room out too. Call today at 845/932-5113 for your free orientation.

Revised date: The Cochecton Men’s Club will be holding its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19 at 1 p.m. sharp. Join the Easter Bunny at the Cochecton Men’s Sports Complex. See you there for a hoppin’ good time!

A penny social will be held on Saturday, May 10 at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling starts at 12:30 p.m. Beverages and hot dogs and sauerkraut plus chips will be served. Coffee and cake will be served after the calling. It’s sponsored by the Ladies Aid Society. See you there.

The Delaware Youth Center is holding a Spring Garden and Craft Fair on Saturday, May 31 and they are calling for vendors. Space reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have any questions, visit www.delawareyouthcenter.org or email events@delawareyouthcenter.org.
