Frontier service interrupted

NARROWSBURG, NY — Frontier internet and phone service was out in Narrowsburg due to a break in a cable on Route 23 in Beaver Brook. The outage lasted from early on September 26 and through the night.

A message from the Town of Tusten said it was not a Frontier issue, instead “a cable company was installing new poles and neglected to contact Dig Safe, they cut a fiber optic line. Frontiers crews worked all night until it was fixed.”

A technician who sent photos to The River Reporter said it was not yet clear if Spectrum cable was at fault or a contractor, but he said the interruption was costly and it was “a lot of money lot of equipment lot of people out of service, it connected Norwich to Middletown.”
