Another musical weekend at Rafter’s Tavern

CALLICOON, NY — On Friday, September 27, the five-piece jam band Captain Magic will hit Rafter’s Tavern at 8 p.m.

Saturday, September 28 welcomes Sean T Murray to the stage, which he plans to share with some of Rafter’s other musical regulars: Richard Traviss, Caswyn Moon, Kali Seastrand, Jillian Nogin, Chef Alex and Veronica Daub.

And as per usual on Sundays, the music begins on September 29 with the open mic at 3 p.m. Jazz by the Hal Galper Trio follows at 6:30 p.m.

Food, music and fun fundraiser

EQUINUNK, PA — On Saturday, September 28, the Friends of the Upper Delaware River (FUDR) is hosting a fundraiser at the Bouslough home, located at 5016 Hancock Hwy. on the Main Stem of the Delaware.

Admission costs $200 per person, $300 per couple. Proceeds support FUDR’s efforts to protect and restore the Upper Delaware River for future generations.

Local craft beer, wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, followed by an Argentinian BBQ by Mike Cartechine. There will be live entertainment, an open bar, a cornhole tournament and a silent auction.

Free ice cream and open house

MILFORD, PA — A family-fun, fee-free day on Saturday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grey Towers National Historic Site will feature an open house of the historic mansion, a special historic exhibit and a re-creation of Gov. Gifford Pinchot’s annual ice cream social with free ice cream from 2 to 4 p.m.

In lieu of a fee, visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to a local food pantry. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a picnic to enjoy on the estate grounds.

Workshops for business owners

HONESDALE, PA — Tim Sohn, founder of social media/public relations agency Sohn Social Media Solutions, will share how to use Facebook Live video and Facebook ads to increase sales during two workshops in October.

Both workshops are free and take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at VIP Kidz Club located at 218 Willow Ave. Light refreshments will be served.

On Thursday, October 3, “How to Create Your Own Facebook Live Show” will cover building confidence on a livestream, kind of gear, how to promote, different formats and more. On Thursday, October 17, “Facebook Ads to Generate Holiday Sales” will share how much to spend to get results, discuss how to target ads, and more.

‘Confessions of an Unnatural Blonde’

FORESTBURGH, NY — On Saturday, September 28 at 8 p.m. Paige Turner, the drag darling of New York City, returns to the Forestburgh Tavern after her sold-out cabaret debut last season at the Forestburgh Playhouse.

Tickets cost $25 in advance, $35 at the door.
