Fire burns Monticello home

Press release: Monticello Firefighters responded at 5:15 AM to a report of a residential home fire at 490 Rose Valley Road in the Town of Thompson.  Upon arrival Engine 22-14 found a single family residence with fire in the kitchen area. The fire was reported by the residents of the home.

Monticello immediately transmitted a second alarm and requested tankers from Rock Hill and Lumberland Fire Departments and Town of Bethel FAST Team. Hurleyville Firefighters were called to standby in Monticello’s Station.

Mobilemedic EMS and Sullivan County Fire Investigators assisted at the scene. New York State Electric and Gas was called to the scene for a power cut. The family was assisted by the Sullivan County Chapter  of American Red Cross.

No injuries were reported and all units were back in service at 8:00 AM.
