Growing microgreens for fun

MONTICELLO, NY — On Tuesday, April 4 at 6:40 p.m., Friends of the Garden is presenting a workshop about growing microgreens at the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library. Attendees will be able to eat a microgreen salad and plant a microgreen garden to take home. Registration is required and seats are limited to 15 participants. There is a materials fee of $5. A meal for Mia Mizwinski

 HONESDALE, PA — On Tuesday, April 2 from 6 to 8 p.m., the Hotel Wayne is hosting a pasta dinner to benefit the Mizwinski family. After Mia Mizwinski, mother of three, lost her husband to cancer last April, she was diagnosed with sepsis and hospitalized from New Year’s Eve 2018 until the end of February. The dinner benefits will go toward the family’s medical and personal bills. Tickets for dining in cost $15 per person, $12 for takeout. Penne ala vodka will be served with meatballs, a side salad and garlic bread. There will be 50/50s and raffles for gift baskets. Final Main Street Farmers’ Market and Romping Radishes of the season

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, March 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Cooperage is hosting the final farmers’ market of the winter season. From 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Romping Radishes will take place upstairs. The topic is “Stone Soup: Bring what you’ve got and put it in the pot.” Bring a veggie or two for the class, which is geared toward children from grades Kindergarten through second, but all are welcome. A healthy snack will be provided, and parents or guardians must stay with their children for the duration of the class.
