WURTSBORO, NY — The Mamakating Library in honor of Women’s History Month will host Female Filmmakers Anthology, Thursday, March 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
We will watch, analyze, and discuss the often-overlooked innovative contributions of several female pioneer filmmakers; featuring work by Maya Deren and Alice Guy-Blanché, the pioneers of experimental film. The discussion will be led by Alethea Pape, a local experimental filmmaker in the library community room. Join us as we explore the poetic and bold work that shaped the avant-garde film movement and special-effects techniques.
