I hope everyone is OK and staying healthy. It’s nice to be able to go out and do some fun things. I already booked a vacation to Aruba in the fall. My family is getting bigger, bigger and bigger. My cousin, my buddy, Donnie died in February, and last week his granddaughter Aaliyah was born and she looks just like him. I have a new cousin, Hettie, who was born to my cousin in England. As I am typing this (June 2 at 4:10 p.m.), my niece, Mollie, is in labor and ready to give birth; she is my sister’s daughter. I got the call at 3 a.m. on June 3 that Fintan was born; he is a cutie pie. I am truly blessed with a big, amazing, loving family.

Cochecton’s summer clean-up will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 12 and 13, from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Items can be brought to the Cochecton Town Hall, located at 116 CR 116, Lake Huntington, NY—the old town hall.

Acceptable items include household junk, bulky waste (furniture, mattresses, carpets, etc.), iron pipes (must be cut to four-foot length), drums and tanks (must be empty and cut open or crushed) and paint or tar cans (must be empty and dry). None of the following will be accepted: full or partially full cans of paint, commercial dumping, household garbage, yard waste (leaves, stumps, roots, or rocks), no hazardous wastes (petroleum products, pesticides, or propane tanks), computers or monitors, television sets, or fluorescent bulbs or lamps. The Town of Cochecton will be accepting four regular car and truck tires at no cost; cost is $3.00 per tire after the fourth tire. No oversized tires are allowed.

This program is made possible by the Sullivan County Legislature along with the division of public works and solid waste and the Town of Cochecton. If you have any questions please give town clerk Maryann Blaso Oumri a call at 845/932-8360 ext. 11.

Lake Huntington Lake Association annual raffle tickets are in my hands: one for $5 or three for $10. First prize is a kayak and paddle. Second prize is a $150 Dick’s Sporting Goods gift certificate. Third prize is a $10 Cabela’s gift certificate. Fourth prize is a “Basket of Cheer.” If you would like to purchase tickets to help save the lake, just email me and I can get them to you. Thank you to the people who already took tickets. I even make house calls.

Have a great week. Email me if you have any news that you want to get out there at leeniebeans@citlink.net. You can always find me online in community living
