FALLSBURG, NY -- A Fallsburg woman was arrested following an investigation into a neighbor dispute.
On June 9, the Fallsburg Police responded to a residence in Loch Sheldrake for a reported 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival, it was reported to police that a neighbor dispute had occurred in which Evelyn Monterrey used her pit bull mixed breed dog to intimidate her neighbors.
It was alleged that Monterrey walked the dog over toward her neighbors in a threatening manner during the argument as the dog was barking and acting aggressively toward them. It was also alleged that Monterrey's dog had jumped on a woman who had to strike the animal to escape.
Upon further investigation, Monterrey was charged with Menacing in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and was released on an appearance ticket.
She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court at a later date.
