Clean Energy Co-op celebrates partnership with Stourbridge Project

HONESDALE, PA — On Tuesday, July 30 from 4 to 6 p.m., the Stourbridge Project will host an open house to celebrate the Clean Energy Co-op’s latest solar projects. The open house will consist of a tour of what the Stourbridge Project has to offer and a discussion about the Clean Energy Co-op’s solar plans in 2019. Light refreshments from the Anthill Farm Kitchen, Natures Grace and Here & Now will be provided.

‘Latch-On in the Garden’ in support of national breastfeeding month

HARRIS, NY — August is National Breastfeeding Month, and the Catskill Regional Medical Center is hosting a “Latch-On in the Garden” event at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 1 at the Woodland Wildlings Garden located behind Catskill Regional Medical Center’s main campus.
The event is to raise awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and gives breastfeeding mothers an opportunity to share experiences. A free breastfeeding support group is also hosted by Catskill Regional on the first and third Thursday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

Repair café

MAMAKATING, NY — The Mamakating Library will hold its repair café on Saturday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Repairs cost nothing and are completed by local volunteers.

Callicoon Country Fair

CALLICOON, NY — On Saturday, July 27 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Callicoon Country Fair will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Town of Delaware. Live musical performances will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Train Depot stage, featuring local bands Joshua Tree, Poison Love, Keith Newman, Kali Seastrand, Don “Banjo” Smith and JANTURAN. Vendors will fill Upper and Lower Main streets, an antique show will take place in the Wayne Bank parking lot and children’s activities and carnival games will be at the Callicoon Creek Park.

$54,000 raised for community programs

GOSHEN, NY — The 13th annual Catholic Charities Golf for Charity outing raised $54, 000 in support of Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster’s programs in the community, including addiction prevention and treatment, and emergency food and shelter assistance.

Mick’s Buzz Off for Cancer event raises $10,832

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, June 29, the fifth biennial Mick’s Buzz Off for Cancer was held at Mick’s Barber Shop and raised $10,832 to support The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute. The event promoted cancer awareness and invited members of the community to ask family and friends to make a donation in exchange for their promise to have their hair buzzed.

‘Portraits in Faith’ video screening

BEACH LAKE, PA — On Sunday, July 28 at 10:15 a.m. at the Berlin Community Center, “Portraits in Faith” will be presented featuring George Ivanovich.
