SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — The results have come in for school board elections across Sullivan County, held on May 17.

Eldred Central School District had three propositions on its election ballot, one to pass the district's budget, one to support the Sunshine Hall Free Library and one to approve a lease for school busses. All three propositions passed, by votes of 214 to 49, 219 to 44 and 222 to 41 respectively.

Kristen Smith ran unopposed to retain her seat on Eldred's school board. She attained that seat with 218 votes.

Preliminary results are in for the Sullivan West Central School District school board elections.

Sullivan West had two propositions on its ballot, with requests that voters approve the budget as well as a five million dollar capital reserve fund. Both propositions passed, the first by 624 votes to 159, the second by 624 votes to 149.

Five candidates vied for three open seats on the Sullivan West school board. Rose Joyce-Turner ran unopposed for the first of the three seats, and attained that seat with 526 votes in her favor.

Jackie Rutledge beat out Kristen Johnson for another seat, earning 466 votes to Johnson's 264. Michael Ellmauer beat out Craig Passante for the final seat, earning 500 votes to Passante's 252.
