Easter egg hunt, Narrowsburg food pantry looks for donations and more

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I was down in Queens; on Saturday, we took my sister-in-law to Lips in NYC for her birthday. Lips is a dinner and drag queen show destination, and Ariel Sinclair, the MC, is my brother. We had a great time with lots of laughs. On Sunday, I went to a baby shower for my mother’s sister’s daughter’s son’s baby—another cousin.

I would just like to let my readers know the schedule for my Lake Huntington News. I will be in The Sullivan County Democrat every week on Tuesdays and in The River Reporter every week online and alternating every three weeks with Honesdale and Narrowsburg news in print. I hope to keep you informed and entertained—I really appreciate all my readers.

On Saturday, April 20, The Cochecton Men’s Club is having an Easter egg hunt down at the Cochecton ballfield. The fun will begin at 1 p.m. Come on out and let the kids have a great time.

Sullivan West’s very own Isabella Kent will be graduating from SUNY Maritime College on May 3 with a bachelor’s degree in marine transportation with a deck license. Bella has already passed her Coast Guard licensing exam and is a licensed third mate. She has accepted a job offer with General Dynamics Bath Iron Works Division and will be moving to Maine in June. Isabella was my neighbor when my husband and I first moved to Cochecton 22 years ago. She was such a cute little girl. Her and her brothers would run across the field to come and visit Tommy and me. I am so proud of Bella, and I wish her all the luck in the world. Way to go, Bella!

Easter time is here, and the Narrowsburg food pantry is looking for donations. The food pantry is running a fundraiser on Saturday, May 4 with DJ Dancing Dan. For more information, call Joanne Letendre at 845/252-3971. If you cannot make the dance but would like to make a donation, send a check payable to The Ecumenical Food Pantry, PO Box 54, Narrowsburg, NY, 12764.

The Cochecton Youth Commission (CYC) is having signups on April 17 and May 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for the Subway Series Mets versus Yankees. Call or text Sue Rodriguez with any questions at 845/866-0853.

I wish everyone a very happy and healthy Passover and a very happy Easter.

Keep smiling and have a great week! You can email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news. You can always check me out at www.riverreporter.com in Community living.
