The International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) has endorsed Tim Dymond’s candidacy for Sullivan County Sheriff. The organization represents active-duty rank-and-file law enforcement professionals from across the nation.

In the endorsement letter, IUPA president Sam Cabral wrote, “Your tenure as the senior Investigator of the Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team gave you intimate knowledge of the drug and gang problems that threaten the safety of residents of Sullivan County. Your demonstrated leadership excellence and commitment to your county will serve you well in this august position of trust and responsibility.”

Dymond also earned the endorsement of the New York State Union of Police Associations (NYSUPA).  NYSUPA is a highly regarded statewide organization that represents more than 4,000 police officers, deputy sheriffs and other law enforcement professionals across New York State.

Dymond announced his campaign in January following his retirement—with the rank of senior investigator—from the State Police. He was a long-time member of the Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement team. 

During his tenure, he worked extensively as an undercover officer and ran complex investigations that removed illicit drugs—including heroin, cocaine, meth and fentanyl—from our streets. He has been the lead investigator on murder, rape, robbery and child abuse cases that put dangerous criminals in state prison.

 A lifelong resident of Sullivan County, Dymond was born and raised in Neversink and graduated from Tri-Valley High School. He began his law enforcement service with the NYPD in 2005, patrolling dangerous neighborhoods in the Bronx. He later served as an officer with the Fallsburg Police Department before joining the State Police in 2008 (graduating at the top of his recruit class). In 2012, he was named Troop F Trooper of the Year. 

Aside from his professional career spent protecting the public, Dymond has been a longtime active community volunteer in Sullivan County. He has volunteered as a youth football, basketball and soccer coach, and serves as the vice president of the Tri-Valley school board. He lives in Neversink with his family and can be regularly seen at his children’s games all over the county. 

Republican Primary Election Day is June 24. The General Election will be held on November 4. Early voting and absentee voting will be available for both elections.
