Dr. Richard J. Daboul Jr. of Barryville, NY, a long-time area resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at home. The son of Richard J. Daboul Sr. and the late Marilou (Ruehling) Daboul, he was born March 13, 1951 in Riverside, NJ. He was 70 years old. Richard was married to the former Catherine (Cathy) Borromeo. 

Dr. Daboul owned and operated River Valley Family Medical Services with his wife, Cathy. He had offices in Barryville and Port Jervis; he was part of the Middletown Medical PC. He opened his offices in 1986. He was a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He served in the Military Reserve. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Shohola, PA. He was a member of the Town of Highland Lions. He was a season ticket holder of the Philadelphia Eagles Football Team. 

A family statement reads, “Richard was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and physician.”

Richard is survived by his wife, Cathy; his father, Richard J. Daboul Sr.; four children: Jennifer Critelli and her husband, Paul, of Three Bridges, NJ; Richard Daboul III and his wife, Kristin, of Southington, CT; Brian Daboul and his wife, Suvd, of Long Branch, NJ; Michele Daboul and her partner, Gabe, of Queens, NY; grandchildren: Isabella Critelli, Ben Critelli, Kennedy Daboul, Hazel Daboul, Leah Daboul, Emma Daboul and his sister, Ann Marie O’Hara, and her husband, John, of Marco Island, FL.  

Richard is predeceased by his daughter, Corrine Marie Daboul. 

Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 15 from 2 to 4 p.m., 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, July 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 Rte. 97, Barryville, NY 12719. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Shohola, PA
