May is off to a busy start! So far, we celebrated two birthdays (including mine!), Mother’s Day, track meets and a few horse shows. This week we have the first Father-Daughter Dance, and I am so excited to see all the young ladies from Sullivan West Elementary decked out in their finest! Thank you so much to everyone involved in planning this adorable event.

The following are some other activities and events happening locally.

Join the Cochecton Youth Commission on a trip to see "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" on Friday, May 13 at the Callicoon Theatre. Sign up with Michelle on May 13 from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the theater. The movie starts at 7:30. Cochecton youth will receive popcorn and soda with their ticket. Contact Michelle at 570/419-8801 with questions.

The programs are funded in full or in part by the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

The Catskill Outdoorsman holds Archery Ladies Night every Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit their website at www.catskilloutdoorsman.com.

The Chi Hive in Narrowsburg is offering four weeks of camp this summer for children ages 4-10. Kids will have six sessions a day to explore a variety of classes in art, fitness, nutrition, yoga, theater, music, gardening, animal play, herbalism and more for a well-rounded camp! For registration information and pricing reach out to info@thechihive.com.

The Delaware Youth Center (DYC) is offering summer swim lessons. There will be four two-week sessions beginning on Monday,  June 27. Registration will be held on Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Price is as follows: $80/session for members of DYC or $100/session for non-members. If you sign up for all four sessions, the cost is $300 for members of DYC or $375 for non-members. Please note that there is a 50 percent deposit required for registration.

Don’t forget there will be a Penny Social hosted by Rhythm & Grace Dancers on Saturday, May 14 at the Livingston Manor Firehouse, 93 Main St., Livingston Manor, NY. Doors open at 3 p.m. and calling starts at 5 p.m. Admission: people 12 and over $4; for those under 12, the cost is $3. There will be gift certificates, toys, books, movies, 50/50—something for everyone—and refreshments for sale. If you want to get concrete work done, give B & P Concrete a call at 845/701-6721. Some of their services include slabs, basement floors, driveways, sidewalks and patios.

We recently had lunch at The Cacklin’ Hen in Youngsville and the food was delicious. They offer breakfast and lunch daily from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Give them a try if you are in the area.
