Sullivan Audubon Society receives grant for watershed

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC), via the National Audubon Society, has just awarded the Sullivan County Audubon Society (SCAS) $5,000 in grant money to aid in the organization’s efforts to keep the river clean.

The Audubon chapter isn’t sure what they’re planning to use the money for yet, said spokesperson Kate Hyden, but she added that it will be something related to the watershed. “The Delaware River Watershed delivers water to 13 to 15 million people,” the chapter wrote in a release. “As Sullivan County is the largest territory in the watershed in NY, SCAS was chosen for this honor to bring to the fore the need to fully fund the watershed.”
