NORTHERN WAYNE COUNTY, NY — With these three does in sight, there’s a good chance that a buck is not far away. In the midst of “the rut”—the hunters’ term for white-tailed deer mating season—bucks are seeking to mate and are not paying much attention to anything else, including traffic.
This is also the time of year when drivers are more likely to collide with a deer. Consumer Reports says that November is the top month for insurance claims to pay for vehicle collisions with deer.
