Debra L. Mohan

Debra L. Mohan of Yulan, NY, and a longtime resident of the area, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at home unexpectedly. 

The daughter of the late Carl Sheldon Taylor and Audrey May Edsall, she was born in Franklin, NJ. 

She was married for 50 years to Vasa Mohan, who survives. 

A family statement reads: “Debra was a loyal wife, a loving grandmother, and a devoted mother and sister. She was a lover to one, a friend to some and an Iron Lady to all. Her pristine home served as one of the many prides in her life. She was an award-winning bed maker. She never failed to fill the room with the music of laughter, whether it was her own or from others. She inspired those around her through her strength, will and spunk. She will truly be missed by all.” 

Survivors include her husband, Vasa; sons Shawn Mohan and wife Jennifer of Pond Eddy, NY, Mark Mohan and wife Nisa of Glen Spey, NY and Carl Mohan of Yulan, NY; grandchildren Sebastian Mohan, Allison Mohan, Nicholas Mohan, Alyssia Karl-Mohan, Carla Mohan, Kailee Mohan and Carl Mohan Jr.; sisters Jackie Taylor and Judith Vreeland of Pond Eddy; brother Todd Taylor of Wantage, NJ; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Friends were invited to call on January 12 and January 13 at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 Rte. 97, Barryville, NY 12719. 

Funeral service was be held on January 13 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Glen Spey Cemetery in Glen Spey, NY. Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst will officiate.
