John P. DeYoung, 87, of Honesdale, PA, passed away July 19, 2023 at Forest City Nursing & Rehab Center in Forest City, PA. John was born April 6, 1936 in Abington, PA. Friends can visit on Monday, July 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. in Honesdale. A blessing service will be held at 12 noon. Interment with military honors will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Honesdale.

Joan M. Doss, 82, of Port Jervis, NY, passed away July 17, 2023 at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown, NY. Joan was born October 13, 1940 in Port Jervis. Funeral services were held July 22 at Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis. Burial to be at Rural Valley Cemetery in Cuddebackville, NY.

Violetta Guttilla, 98, of Mechanicsburg, PA and formerly of Honesdale, PA, passed away July 16, 2023 at home. Violetta was born March 27, 1925 in Manhattan, NY. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated July 25 at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Honesdale. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Honesdale.

George A. Piercy

George A. Piercy, 91, of Seelyville, PA, passed away July 19, 2023 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. George was born July 4, 1932 in Bethany, PA. Funeral services were held July 24 at Central United Methodist Church in Honesdale. Interment with military honors was held in the Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners in Waymart, PA.

Tobey Lee Popstein, 73, of Port Jervis, NY, passed away July 13, 2023 at home. Tobey was born March 16, 1950 in Joliet, IL. A special memorial service will be held at the Tri-States Naval Ship in Port Jervis at a later time.
