Deadly physical assault at USP Canaan

CANAAN TOWNSHIP, PA— Wayne County Coroner Edward Howell announced the death of Ricardo Martinez, a 74-year old inmate at United States Penitentiary Canaan, on Tuesday, July 30 at around 9 a.m.

Martinez died from multiple traumatic injuries due to physical assault. The death has been ruled a homicide.

The attacker has not yet been identified. Federal authorities are investigating the homicide.
