BEACH LAKE, PA and ONLINE — The Delaware Highlands Conservancy recently announced the following community programs and workshops for March at the Van Scott Nature Reserve, located at 571 Perkins Pond Road. Events require advance registration. Program details and registration can be found at www.DelawareHighlands.org/events or by calling education and volunteer coordinator Rachel Morrow at 570/226-3164 ext. 2.

Friday, March 21, 1-2 p.m. “Adapting to Change”

The conservancy will host a hands-on activity at the Van Scott Nature Reserve exploring how the choices humans make in altering the land affect the wildlife that inhabit it. Through various scenarios, the conservancy will simulate environmental changes and their impact on the ecosystem. This program is best suited to older children and adults. Registration fee is $10 for conservancy members, $15 for non-members and $5 for kids 12 and under.

Tuesday, March 25, 12-1 p.m. “Mystery Zoom”

On the last Tuesday of every month through October, the conservancy hosts “Mystery Zoom.” Participants can engage with the conservancy each week on social media to try and guess the theme based on clues and questions shared. Each Zoom will cover a different topic. If the topic sparks folks’ interest, they’re encouraged to stick around and learn something new with the hosts. Zoom meeting details will be emailed after registration.
