‘Shakespeare on the Farm’


DAMASCUS, PA —Farm Arts Collective will present an original, site-specific production called “Shakespeare on the Farm,” created by the Farm Arts Collective ensemble and co-directed by Farm Arts Collective artistic director Tannis Kowalchuk and company member, Mimi McGurl. The performance will take place at Willow Wisp Organic Farm Saturday and Sunday, August 3, 4 and 10, 11; all shows begin at 6:30 p.m.

Jazz at the Bethany Bandshell


BETHANY, PA — The jazz quartet, Lone Duck, will perform a free outdoor concert at the Bethany Bandshell in the borough’s Central Park on Tuesday, August 6 at 7 p.m. The evening will feature jazz standards by some of the genre’s greatest musicians, as well as a few original compositions by the group.

Bringing a lawn chair for your own seating is suggested. If it rains, the concert will be moved indoors to the Bethany Borough Community Room, upstairs from the Bethany Public Library, 8 Court Street.

Town-wide celebration of classical music


MILFORD, PA — The Borough of Milford will host a classical music celebration on Saturday, August 3 with indoor and outdoor performances from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and an orchestral gala at 7 p.m. in the Milford Theatre. The exact schedule and repertoire will be announces at www.kindredspiritsarts.org. No tickets are required for any of the events.

Germany comes to Sullivan


JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Jeffersonville Enhances More of Sullivan (JEMS) is sponsoring a two-part series titled “A Touch of Germany.” The series begins on Wednesday, August 7 and closes on Saturday, August 10.
On Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., Sullivan County historian John Conway and local descendants of German settlers will speak about the influx of Germans into the Jeffersonville area generations ago at the Callicoon Town Hall located at 19 Legion St.

On Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m., Tavern on Main will host a German food and beer fest. At 7 p.m., a quartet from the Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra will perform the works of German classical composers. Admission costs $10 per person and children under 12 are free.

CFFCM’s Summerfest


LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM) is hosting its Summerfest on Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4. The marketplace will be packed with 20 vendors and will offer everything from angling gear to home goods. The Hardy Cup and Casting Course Challenge will begin on Saturday. Both days will offer free fly-tying lessons for kids, provided by the Catskill Fly Tyers Guild.

On Saturday at 3 p.m., there will be a showing of the Orvis movie “50/50 on the Water.” Friends of the Upper Delaware will be presenting on Sunday at 12 noon in the Wulff Gallery followed by Catskill Mountainkeeper at 1 p.m.

50th annual Antique Dealers’ Association show and sale


HAWLEY, PA — On Saturday and Sunday, August 3 and 4, the Antiques Dealers Association of Wayne, Pike and Sullivan counties will take place in the Wallenpaupack North Intermediate School.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, with an admission fee of $6 per person. Proceeds benefit historical, educational and preservation efforts and organizations in the tristate area.
