A press release from Honesdale Borough Police Chief Richard Southerton:
HONESDALE, PA — The Honesdale Borough Police Department filed charges on Michael Tyahla, 20, from Honesdale, for burglary, criminal trespass, theft and other charges for break-ins of several railroad cars on the Stourbridge Line during June and July and a break-in at The Runaway Train Brewery on July 25. A search warrant was also executed and numerous items from the break-ins were recovered.
The borough had previously posted these images of the crimes on their Facebook page.
The filing of criminal charges is not evidence of guilt but simply a description of the charge made by the Commonwealth against a defendant. A charged defendant is presumed innocent until a jury returns a unanimous finding that the Commonwealth has proven the defendant's guilt beyond a reasonable doubt or until the defendant enters a guilty plea to the charges.
