ROSCOE, NY — Do you want to ensure the long-term viability of our cemeteries, what best positions them for the future? All are invited to learn from the experts at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 8 at the Roscoe Rockland Community Center.
The New York State Department of State’s cemetery division is hosting courses across New York State. Cemetery officers, directors and operators are encouraged to attend one of the trainings. The courses are designed to explain the basic aspects of successful cemetery operations: the state rules governing public cemeteries, the rules a cemetery board can set, and the rights of lot owners, for example.
Attendees can meet with division staff and ask questions as well.
The training is open to the public. If you don’t register, you can still attend if seats are available.
The community center is located at 1968 Old Rte. 17.
