Press release: On Tuesday March 10, 2020 at approximately 11:00 PM, the Sheriff’s Patrol responded to a 911 report of a hit and run motor vehicle accident on State Route 17 in the vicinity of exit 113 westbound.

A driver reported that he had been sideswiped by a U-Haul pickup truck, that then took off at a high rate of speed. Deputies spotted the vehicle near exit 110 and clocked it at 90 Miles per hour. The vehicle passed a second sheriff’s patrol car at exit 107 and was picked up on radar at 110 MPH.

The pursuing sheriff units called ahead to state police units who were waiting near exit 101, where the pickup truck eventually pulled over. The driver, Antonio McLemoore, age 41, of the Bronx was taken into custody. McLemoore was charged with the Felony of Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree and the Misdemeanors of Reckless Driving, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and several other traffic infractions

The Defendant, who had 24 driver license suspensions and 30 prior arrests was arraigned in the Town of Thompson Court and released under the new state bail law. However, Deputies discovered that Antonio McLemoore was on lifetime parole for Kidnapping in the First Degree and notified State Parole Officers. A parole warrant was filed and the defendant is currently siting in the Sullivan County Jail awaiting further proceedings.
