DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) offers activities year-round that showcase the wonders of nature. This weekend will offer the following; register by calling the number below.
All activities take place at the center.
Intro to Bonsai Cultivation: Saturday, July 20, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Join presenter Christina Major for a lesson on the ancient Japanese art of bonsai. This program will cover the history of bonsai as well as how to begin your own cultivation. The cost is $5 per person.
Wilderness Walkabout: Saturday, July 20, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Get out and explore PEEC with Paul Kovalski—aka Dr. Dinosaur—as you hike one of our trails and discuss the natural history of the park. The cost is $5 per person.
Frog Frolic: Sunday, July 21, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Spend the afternoon at PEEC’s ponds and streams. Learn about some of the center’s frog friends as you gently catch and release these hopping amphibians. Wear boots and plan on getting wet and muddy. The cost is $5 per person.
