Barryville

Posted

Katy Czapnik, her son Kai and their dog Hunter were out enjoying a sunny day in Barrville as we passed through.

The family moved to Barryville from the city roughly seven years ago, seeking something “less hectic,” and now owns Barryville Bottle in town.

A hamlet in the Town of Highland, Barryville is a great entrance point to Sullivan County. The hamlet features a busy and colorful Main Street, a weekly farmer’s market (see page 17), plenty of restaurants and lodging options, as well as easy access to canoe liveries to get out and enjoy the water.

Events you might want to check out in Barryville include the annual Pumpkin Fest Oct. 12 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Carriage House and the Butterfly Ball, on August 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Yulan Ball Field that supports pollinators and beautification in the Town of Highland.
