ONLINE — For those wanting to raise backyard beef, sheep or goats, Penn State Extension is offering a webinar, titled “Living on a Few Acres: Backyard Beef, Sheep, and Goats.” It takes place on Thursday, November 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The session is designed for the beginning producer or homesteader and for those looking to become more self-sufficient in beef cattle, sheep and goat production basics.
This event is perfect for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of starting a beef, sheep, or goat enterprise. The information covered will be basic and will provide an overview of beef, sheep or goat production principles.
Participants can learn breed selection, feeding, reproduction, health, marketing, pasture management and grazing management.
Instructors will also share how to find more detailed information on various aspects of livestock production, as well as basics on cool-season species and more.
Participants must register by 6 p.m. November 14 to receive the link to access the live webinar. A $5 registration fee accompanies the event. Registrants also will receive access to the webinar recording.
