‘Almost Maine’

MIDDLETOWN, NY — The SUNY Orange Apprentice Players will present John Cariani’s “Almost Maine” on stage at the William and Helen Richards Theatre at Orange Hall OF SUNY Orange during the weekends of November 8 to 10 and 15 to 17.

“Almost Maine” will be performed on Friday and Saturday, November 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, November 10 and 17 at 3 p.m. The audience is invited to stay for a talk-back with the director and cast following each Saturday evening performance. This performance is suitable for theatre-goers of all ages.

Tickets cost $12 for adults; $10 for seniors, staff and alumni; and $4 for students. Active duty military are admitted free. Student tickets are available at the box office only.

‘Arts of the Angler’ marketplace

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Arts of the Angler marketplace will take place on Saturday, November 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Wulff Gallery of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum Campus.

Liberty museum hosts dinner and a show

LIBERTY, NY — On Sunday, November 10, the Liberty Museum and Arts Center invites painter, poet and chef Clyde Washington to present his show “The War with God,” to be followed by an all-you-can-eat buffet dinner.

‘Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins’

HURLEYVILLE, NY — On Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, November 10 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., the Hurleyville Arts Centre presents the film “Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins,” about the acclaimed journalist, newspaper columnist, political commentator and humorist. A Q&A session with director Janice Engel follows Saturday’s screening.

Authorfest

HONESDALE, PA — The Authors Alliance will hold its seventh annual Authorfest on Saturday, November 9 from 2 to 7 p.m. at The Cooperage. This event is held once a year to provide authors, poets and readers a chance to come together to learn more about the craft of writing and to network with fellow literary fans.

The 2019 program will be of particular benefit to authors who are already published or aspiring to be published.

‘Confluence: Land, Water and Wildlife’ photo contest winners

MILFORD, PA — This summer, the Delaware Highlands Conservancy held its second annual photo contest, “Confluence: Land, Water, and Wildlife,” inviting local photographers to capture striking nature-inspired photos from the Upper Delaware River region in four categories: landscape (winner Kathe Williams), wildlife (winner Dennis Romano), macro (winner Kathe Williams) and water (winner Tom Bugaj). The People’s Choice winner is Jeffrey Sidle, and the Conservancy Staff Pick is Nick Verducci.

The ARTery Gallery in Milford, PA will host the exhibit from November 9 until December 9 in an exhibition featuring the winning photographs, including runners-up, alongside artwork created by ARTery member artists.

An opening reception, open to the public, will be held Saturday, November 9, 5 to 8 p.m. At the reception, conservancy staff will be on hand to talk about their land-protection work and educational programming and will be available to answer any questions.
