And just like that, we are winding down the month of July! Boy, last week was certainly a scorcher, so I hope you found ways to keep cool.

The Lake Huntington first annual cornhole tournament was a big hit. I hope you were able to stop by and meet the Cochecton Ambulance Corp and play a few rounds. Looking forward to this event next year!

Have a look at a bunch of activities coming up locally.

Farmers’ markets happen throughout the county on Sundays. Take note of the times and locations of a few. Jeffersonville: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Callicoon: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Roscoe: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Support our local farmers!

The annual Firehouse Book Sale is happening from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 4 to Saturday, August 6 at the Jeffersonville Firehouse. This event is sponsored by the Western Sullivan Public Library. Drop by and buy one book or more.

The Grahamsville Little World’s Fair is coming soon! The dates are Friday, August 19 to Sunday, August 21. And they’ll offer a sensory-friendly hour on Saturday, August 20 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, with no music or lights, before the rides open to the general public.

Be sure to stop by to see all the 4-H exhibits, livestock, the horse show and so much more. There really is something for everyone to see.

Trout Town Day is coming to Roscoe on Sunday, August 7. There’s a vendor fair at the Roscoe Community Center, a parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on Stewart Avenue, and the duck race is at 2 p.m. For more information, contact Emily at 607/290-4048. See you there!

Stop by the Diehl Homestead Farm for fresh maple sugar candy, maple syrup, dairy, eggs and so much more! It’s located at 93 Diehl Rd. in Callicoon. They have so many delicious fresh, local products and it is so important to shop local.

If you have a local business that you would like to have spotlighted in an upcoming column, get in touch! Email jenn@jennpowelldesigns.com with any news, events, and happenings.
