LIBERTY, NY — On March 7, 2021, the Village of Liberty Police and State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations arrested James Colon, age 29, for second-degree robbery, a felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Investigation revealed that, while Colon was residing at a local motel, he allegedly became angry during a visit with another patron of the motel, and struck him in the face, causing a broken nose. Colon then allegedly stole money and electronic devices, including a PlayStation 4, laptops and cash from the injured man. Investigators recovered the stolen items in Colon’s room. He was arraigned in the Town of Fallsburg Court in front of Town Justice Kaminsky and remanded to Sullivan County Jail.
