‘Summer Solstice Dance Soiree’


HONESDALE, PA — The Cooperage is hosting a “Summer Solstice Dance Soiree” on Saturday, August 10 as part of Honesdale’s monthly Second Saturday celebration. The dance party will include DJs Sommer Santoro, Gary Moss and Master Alden to provide a mix of funk, soul, rock n’ roll and more.

Gates to the pocket park open at 7:30 p.m. Here & Now Brewing will provide beer, yard games and music. The dance party moves inside The Cooperage at 8 p.m.

This free dance party is for adults only, 18-years-old and up.

Barbeque to benefit Sullivan County Farmers’ Markets


NORTH BRANCH, NY — On Sunday, August 11 from 5:30 to 9 p.m., the North Branch Inn will host a barbeque to support the Sullivan County Farmers’ Market Association (SCFMA). Poison Love Band will provide music for this benefit event.

Tickets cost $45 per person for all-you-can-eat food, and a full cash bar will be available. A portion of ticket sales will benefit SCFMA. Tickets are available for purchase at  www.callicoonfarmersmarket.org.

‘Shakespeare on the Farm’ adds another show

DAMASCUS, PA — The inaugural, sold-out Farm Arts Collective production “Shakespeare on the Farm” has added an additional show slated for Friday, August 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets cost $20 and can be purchased at www.farmartscollective.org/event/shakespeare-on-the-farm.

Improv and hoop fun


NARROWSBURG, NY — The Chi Hive is presenting a children’s performance workshop from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 10. The class will introduce kids, ages 7 through 12, to vocal warm ups, physical routines and improv games.

Poetry-into-performance workshop


HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — Explore the theme of “how our sense of home changes as our surrounding environment changes” in the North American Cultural Laboratory (NACL Theatre) poetry-into-performance workshop, “De La Pagina.” The two-day workshop will be led by Modesto “Flako” Jimenez.
Sessions will begin on Friday, August 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. and continue on Saturday until a final performance showing at 6 p.m.

Enrollment limit is 15. Tuition costs $100 for local residents and $200 for those who require lodging. Sign up at www.nacl.org/box-office/de-la-pagina.

Woodstock photography exhibit


KAUNEONGA LAKE, NY — The Bethel Council of the Arts (BCA) will celebrate the Woodstock 50th anniversary with a multi-faceted exhibit at ARTSPACE, its gallery, performance and exhibition space located at 3575 State Rte. 55. The opening reception will take place on Friday, August 9 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The exhibit will be on display from Friday, August 2, through Monday, August 26. It will include Woodstock concert photographs taken by Mark Goff, many of which have never been previously exhibited or published, an exhibit of Dove-Trail designs by local artists and 1969 Woodstock event memorabilia and Woodstock-themed arts and crafts.

ARTSPACE will be open on Fridays from 2 to 8 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 8 p.m., and on Mondays from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
