NEWBURGH, NY — Another medical transportation company in Orange County, NY, has been charged with fraud.
NYS Attorney General Letitia James announced the indictment of a transportation company and individuals for stealing more than $2.3 million from Medicaid. Daler and Damir Yuldashev, along with their company DYD Universe, and Nigina Iskandarova, were charged in a scheme that overcharged Medicaid for medical transportation services and paying illegal kickbacks to recipients.
The defendants allegedly bilked Medicaid by billing for fake trips and adding fake tolls, resulting in the $2.3 million overcharge. They also allegedly made illegal kickback payments to Medicaid recipients to recruit more customers.
The defendants face various charges, including grand larceny and health care fraud, with potential prison sentences of up to 25 years.
The case was investigated by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU), which urges anyone with information about Medicaid provider fraud to file a confidential complaint online or call the MFCU hotline at 800-771-7755
Last month James announced the indictment of another Orange County medical transportation and their owners for Medicaid fraud: Muhammad Rizwan Khan, Muhammad Usman Khan, and Farhan Khan, along with their related companies Tristate Express NY, Inc. (Tristate), Meditrans NY, Inc. (Meditrans), Empire Trans NY, Inc. (Empire), and A1 Class Car, Inc. (A1 Class). They allegedly stole more than $3.8 million from Medicaid.
