NEWFOUNDLAND, PA — The Wayne County Community Foundation (WCCF), in partnership with the Cooperage Project and the Newfoundland Area Public Library, will unveil the second location on Wayne County’s new Creative Communities Art Trail in a ceremony taking place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 10 at Carlton Drake Memorial Park.
Opening remarks from community project members will begin at 1:15 p.m., followed by light refreshments.
The rain-or-shine outdoor event is free and open to the public; all are invited to attend.
The art trail seeks to connect Wayne County communities from north to south along PA Route 191 with place-based, locally-designed pieces of outdoor public artwork. This event in Newfoundland marks the second of several locations that will be opening over the next few years.
“Public art is a great way to uplift and celebrate all of the communities that make Wayne County such a vibrant, beautiful and diverse place to be,” the WCCF said.
This project was supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Additional funding was provided by The Wayne County Community Foundation, the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau and generous donations from individuals and businesses.
The park is located at 994 Main St.
