ELDRED, NY — A public hearing will be held on January 8 at 7 p.m. for variances so that a Dollar General Store can be built in Eldred. In order for the plan to go forward, the Town of Highland Zoning Board of Appeals must grant two variances. A Facebook page had been established in opposition to the plan at www.facebook.com/saynotodollargeneral, which says the store will have negative impacts on the community.
