Minerva “Minnie” Kubler of Beach Lake, PA, a longtime resident (1976) and retired as teaching assistant after 35 years at Damascus Area School, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, PA. She was 89.

The daughter of the late John D. Dorian and Ankine Barron, Minnie was born December 29, 1928 in Newark, NJ.

She was the widow of Joseph W. Kubler. Minnie participated in numerous after-school activities at Damascus school to include tutoring and gymnastics. Over the years, Minnie was also a reading tutor, 4-H leader and Sunday-school teacher. She enjoyed reading, old movies and music.

She is survived by her four children: Barbara Tveit of San Diego, CA, Joann Layton and her husband Bradley of Equinunk, PA, Carol Kubler of Woodstock, VT, Joseph W. Kubler and his wife Beth of Taberg, NY; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brother Theodore Dorian of New Mexico; stepsister Betsy McCartney; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Minnie was especially fond of her Aunt Francis, Uncle Eddie, Uncle Neshon and Uncle George. Minnie is predeceased by her husband Joseph, sister Jeanette Betancourt and nephew William Torres.

The family would like to thank Minnie’s special friends George Hahn, Pat Kandrovy, Cathy Phillips, Pat Noble and too many more to mention for their support and friendship. The family would also like to especially thank the staff at Wayne Woodlands for the compassionate care provided for our mother.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 90 Main St., Narrowsburg, NY. Memorial service will be at 12 noon in the funeral home. Burial of her cremains will be in Glen Cove Cemetery, Narrowsburg, NY.
