WCAA kicks off Second Saturdays

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Arts Alliance (WCAA, www.waynecountyartsalliance.org), working with The Cooperage and many other local venues, invites the public to downtown Honesdale on April 14 for the first of its Second Saturdays: nights of live music, special events and art. WCAA headquarters for this celebration will be The Cooperage (www.thecooperageproject.org), located at 1030 Main St.

This Saturday, the Lakewood Elements Music and Art Festival (www.elementsfest.us) will transform The Cooperage into a preview of its upcoming event, which will be held on Memorial Day Weekend. Among the entertainments will be silent disco, performing artists in costume by House of Hallucination, a special-effects lightshow and the festival’s infamous art car. Wear your own costume if you want and be part of the art. BYOB.

The Cooperage party runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Information and maps will be available there for everything else going on throughout town, which will include live music at Irving Cliff Brewery (2 Chapel St.), Here and Now Brewing Company (645-649 Main St.), Twisted Rail Tavern (505 Main St.) and Basin and Main (564 Main St.); art openings along with light fare at Black and Brass Coffee Roasting Co. (520 Main St.), Loose Leaf Pages (627 Main St.) and the DJ Harvey Agency (815 Main St.); and an open drum circle event at Bohdi Tree Art School (214 6th St., Suite B; 570/470-5572) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
