DVAA grants award showcase

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) will be holding the first annual Sullivan Arts Grants Award Showcase on Saturday, May 19, fom 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tusten Theatre, located at 210 Bridge St. Twenty-two local arts organizations received grants in 2018 under two separate regrant programs, administered by DVAA.

The showcase will feature four grantees presenting excerpts of their funded programs, including film, music and performing arts. A reception will follow at the DVAA, 37 Main St.

Among the many grantees are the Barryville Area Arts Association for its programs “A Celebration of Plein Air Painting” and “Sullivan Sings,” Icehouse Arts for Icehouse Arts Film Camp (for ages 7 and up) and video ‘Toons (for ages 3 and up); Jeffersonville Enhances More of Sullivan (JEMS) for “Around the World in Jeffersonville”; and the Sullivan County Historical Society for “Songs and Stories: History and Music in Sullivan County.” An Individual Artists Grant through the Arts for Sullivan program will be awarded to William Conway of Mongaup Valley for his project, “Running With The Muse, An Ekphrastic Collaboration.”
