Upper Delaware Magazine 2015 Fall/Winter

The theme of this year’s fall/winter Upper Delaware Magazine is “generations.” Here we honor the families, businesses and farms in our area that have survived through decades, handing down their wealth of knowledge, wisdom and tradition from the past without getting stuck in the past; using their experience and familial dedication to forge new paths, create a better future, and endow their children with a love of what they do that radiates out to the benefit of the wider community.  Read more

TRR 40th anniversary

The River Reporter is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and in our September 3 issue, we review some of the most important news cycles in our history: Narrowsburg's Cortese landfill, a toxic Superfund site that has still not been purged of the contaminants that resulted from two years of dumping in the early 1970s; the creation of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River; and the great fracking debate.

Whether the feeling is fleeting or lasts a lifetime, it’s the universal language, the thing that inspires us and keeps us going. And now, it's the theme for this year’s Literary Gazette, published annually by The River Reporter.  Read more

FISH 2015

Some fish are very adaptable and will live almost anywhere there is sufficient oxygen in the water and food to eat. Some, like the Death Valley pupfish, are extremely restricted, found only in small remnants, less than an acre in size, of their prehistoric domain. In our region, we enjoy plentiful habitat for selective fish species like trout who rely on cold, clean water to thrive.   Read more
