Marie Anne Gleason of Shohola, PA died Friday, June 3, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 68.
She was born September 26, 1942 in Port Jervis, NY, the daughter of the late Rocco Joseph, Sr. and Marie Mazzaferro Meloi.
Marie was the store manager for Meloi Liquors in Montague, NJ.
A family statement reads: “Marie had the biggest heart of anyone. She loved with her whole soul and was always there to lend an ear or give a hug. You will be greatly missed, mom, daughter, grandma and friend.”
Surviving are her mother of Montague; daughter Kimberly Gleason and husband Patrick Cosgrave of Brooklyn; son Roy Karsten and wife Stormala Spears of Port Jervis, NY; grandsons William and Matthew Karsten; and two nephews.
She is also predeceased by her son Randy Karsten; and brother Rocky Joseph Meloi Jr.
A prayer service was held at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis on Wednesday, June 8 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the St. James The Greater R.C. Church, Montague. Rev. Wayne Varga officiated.
Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.
